A message from our founder
I started Teresi Trucking in 1959 with one truck - I drove it. Over the years the strict attention to customer service by myself and my employees at Teresi Trucking has caused the company to grow and in doing so, gain a reputation for the best customer service available in the industry.
My family and I are fully involved in the management of Teresi Trucking and are dedicated to maintaining this reputation. We know that the key to this is to provide a quality work place that will attract and keep quality employees.
We long ago decided that we would maintain our business by providing the best service available, not always the lowest rate available. When a company competes on price it can always be beat by the next company that comes along with a rate that is two cents cheaper. This lowers rates, lowers drivers wages and destroys profits. It hurts everyone. When a company competes on service, its customer base is much more stable. But keeping a quality service reputation depends on having employees who represent our company well.
The vast majority of our business is between Northern California (the bay area and valley) and the L.A. Basin. Teresi Trucking however does have authority to operate in 48 states and throughout the year our drivers occasionally take loads out of state, usually in the Southwest.
Our drivers can usually expect to be home sometime during the week and for at least one day during the weekend, although occasionally on short notice our drivers will be required to haul freight over a weekend.
Teresi Trucking primarily hauls flatbed and lowbed freight.
At Teresi Trucking we strive to provide our drivers with the best equipment available. Our power units are late model; air-ride equipped, has high horsepower engines and are kept in top condition. Our trucks are also equipped with a cellular based communications system that works throughout most of California. Most of our trailers are equipped with air-ride suspension and automatic slack adjusters, and are also kept in very good condition. We have large terminals on both ends of the state so our drivers are not required or allowed to park their trucks at their home.
Our drivers and equipment are the best salesmen we have. We seek drivers with a professional attitude and appearance who are willing to provide excellent customer service. We look for a good driving record. All of our drivers are of course subject to DOT drug and alcohol screening. Our policy for positives is termination of employment. For insurance reasons we have a no-rider policy.
Pay and Benefits
Our drivers are paid on a commission basis with increases for years worked. Because our drivers are able to provide superior service, we can often haul freight that pays us more and therefore pays our drivers more. We offer a vacation schedule that in some years will pay up to 4 weeks vacation. We cover all of our full time employees with health dental and life insurance and subsidize health coverage for their families. We also offer an employer paid profit sharing program and a non-matching 401k after an employee has been with the company for a time.
